The Ellington Carthan Trio delivered an evening of expressive, richly textured jazz led by distinguished pianist Ellington Carthan, whose artistry has earned acclaim as a performer, composer, and educator. A former Strathmore Artist in Residence and recent performer for President Joseph Biden, Carthan brought a selection of inspired works—many from his forthcoming album—to the Listening Room stage. He was joined by Knox Barber on bass and Carroll Dashiell III on drums, creating a dynamic trio performance that highlighted their collective virtuosity and musical chemistry.
